Short film «Violin» took part in the short film competition program of the 2nd Sochi International Film Festival and Awards, which took place from December 11 to December 16, 2017 in Sochi.

This year the festival jury was for the most part made up of famous Russian and British filmmakers, including such legends as Roland Joffé, Tony Palmer and others.

The second edition of the festival expanded its competition program, which this year included not only full-length feature films, but also short films and documentaries. Among more than forty pictures selected for the SIFFA program, twenty were presented as Short Film nominees. Films were presented by their directors  from Russia, the United Kingdom, Georgia, Kazakhstan, India and Japan. This year a special award was established at the Festival, named after Vera Glagoleva, who was the chair of the Jury of the first SIFFA last year.

On December 16, 2017, at the closing ceremony of the 2nd Sochi International Film Festival and Awards, Konstantin Fam was presented with the Vera Glagoleva Award for Special Contribution to Cinema Development for his short film «Violin».

«Vera possessed a wonderful gift to inspire, to make people who were close to her feel bigger and better. She was a splendid actress, a deep director and an incredible human being. It is impossible to be talking about Vera Vasilievna in the past tense. To me she will always remain the most clear, beloved, beautiful, honest, smart, subtle, generous artist, and a truly people’s artist, too. To receive an award named after her is a great honor and a huge responsibility..."

- said Konstantin Fam, the film’s director.
